The chloroethane compressor is equipped with nitrogen protection, the core of which is to ensure the process safety and prevent the risk caused by air mixing to form explosive mixture or medium leakage.
1. Isolate the air and suppress the explosion risk. Chloroethane is flammable, and its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air. The key parts of the compressor (such as isolation chamber, stuffing box and system after shutdown) are protected with inert gas by filling nitrogen, which can effectively replace and isolate the air and destroy the oxygen conditions required for combustion and explosion.
2. Isolate the medium to prevent leakage and polymerization. Filling nitrogen into the easily leaking parts such as packing to form a gas seal can prevent chloroethane from escaping outward, which not only avoids the pollution of the environment by toxic and harmful gases, but also prevents the medium from staying for a long time to produce self-polymers and protect the precise sealing surface.
3. Purge the process to keep the system pure. Before the equipment is started or overhauled, nitrogen is used to thoroughly purge and replace the system, which can drive away the residual air or chloroethane and ensure the safety of start-up and shutdown operation. At the same time, the purity of the pressure system can be maintained when it is used as a balance gas.
